FAD DIETS & WEIGHT LOSS
The topic of weight loss is a confusing one. Every day new diets pops up, making new claims telling us to eat (or not to eat) a certain food, drink certain things, exercise in a specific way, all of them “promising” massive amounts of weight loss. Yet, with all of these claims and diets people are still trying to find the “magic diet” that works best for them. This is telling us that a lot of what you’re seeing, hearing and reading out there about diets just isn’t going to help, or that you’ll lose large amounts of weight in a short period of time which is unsustainable and therefore likely that you’ll gain all the weight back pretty quickly. Just as a start, it is about fat loss not weight loss! It is about making smarter choices rather than perfect choices, for example; answer this “low-fat” or “fat-free” means it’s better for me. Most people think because of the clever marketing of the food industry that fat free is best. Not true! Fat free will contain—in many cases—4 times the sugar than low fat. That instant sugar in the blood stream goes to the liver and is sent right to the fat cells. Clean eating is superior to all the fads, and fancy sales marketing.
